Jalandhar, May 21

Renowned doctor and educationist Dr MD Bowry (83) passed away this morning. His last rites were attended today by city-based educationists, bureaucrats, doctors and politicians at the cremation ground in Model Town here.

Dr Bowry was the president of the Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust that runs Innocent Hearts educational institutes in the city. After doing MBBS from Government Medical College, Amritsar, he worked with Gulab Devi Hospital for a few years. In 1972, he started practice in Bowry Clinic, Panjpeer, here. He was running a charitable dispensary at Innocent Hearts Fields, Loharan, where free check-up facility was being provided to all. 

He and his wife Kamlesh Bowry started the educational Trust which was now being managed by his sons Dr Anup and Dr Chander and daughters-in-law Shally and Aradhana. — TNS
