A newly married couple died in an accident that occurred on Thursday afternoon near the Tanda bypass on Jalandhar-Pathankot Highway. The accident occurred when the car collided with a tipper parked on road side on the Jalandhar-Pathankot National Highway.

Sidhraj Singh Rana alias Sunny (28) son of Virpushkar Singh Rana, a resident of the Railway Colony Ludhiana, was going to meet his uncle Shivraj Singh along with his wife Anita (26) at his ancestral Toye village near Ghogra. While on the way, near the Tanda bypass, the car rammed into a tipper parked on the roadside.

Both Sidhraj and his wife Anita died on the spot. The Sidhraj’s uncle Shivraj Singh, who arrived at the scene, said the deceased had come from England after 9 years. It was only 15 days ago that he had married Anita, a resident of Dinanagar in Gurdaspur. The Tanda police has sent the bodies for postmortem.
