A ‘shobha yatra’ ahead of the ‘Valmiki Jayanti’ was taken out in Jalandhar (West) constituency here today. MLA Sushil Kumar Rinku; Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma; and Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar; participated in the ‘yatra’.
The MLA, DC and Commissioner of Police said ‘Bhagwan Valmiki, was the ‘Pitaamah’, of Sanskrit and the ‘Adi Kavi’, who, by his immortal and masterpiece composition of ‘Ramayana’ propagated the message of victory of good over evil.
