Two nabbed with car snatched from Moga

JALANDHAR: The Jalandhar (Rural) police arrested two persons and busted a gang of vehicle lifters who were caught along with an Innova car bearing the registration number PB-32-H-4032.

Jalandhar, April 21

The Jalandhar (Rural) police arrested two persons and busted a gang of vehicle lifters who were caught along with an Innova car bearing the registration number PB-32-H-4032. The car was stolen from Moga barely 24 hours back.

The two arrested persons have been identified as Jagtar Singh alias Nikka, a resident of Sadha Wali Basti in district Moga and Jaskaran alias Ajay, a resident of Vishwkarma Nagri, also in district Moga. Police said the two absconding snatchers of the gang might also be in possession of some drugs.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural, Navjot Singh Mahal said, “Following a tip-off, SHO Nakodar, along with a police party, chased an Innova car (bearing the registration number PB-32-H-4032) coming from Moga side, at Ladhra. Trapped at a dead end of the road in village Nurpur Chatth, all four persons in the car came out and tried to flee but the SHO Shahkot and his police team along with some villagers reached the spot and nabbed two of the four accused.”

Police also commended the role of the villagers of Nakodar and the local media who provided key help in nabbing the accused. The SSP said a formal commendation shall be offered to the villagers for their assistance in catching the snatchers.

While the two aforesaid persons were caught, the other two managed to flee. The SSP said the two, who fled the spot, have been identified as Jyoti, a resident of Lal Singh Road in Kotkapura, and Karma, a resident of Sadha Wali Basti, Moga.

Inspector Zamil Mohammed, SHO Nakodar Sadar, Inspector Pavittar Singh, SHO Shahkot, SP Investigation Rajveer Singh, Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu, SP Headquarters, and Vatsala Gupta, ASP Nakodar, were also present.
