When the city police are already groping in the dark in a major theft case involving a Nepalese servant at Gurdev Nagar, two more theft cases were reported and the police were yet to find any clue about the thieves.
The first case was registered at the Model Town police station. Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Abdulpur Basti, informed the police that on August 12, thieves decamped with Rs 20,000 cash, gold and silver ornaments, gold biscuits and other important documents from his house.
He said the incident took place during the night when all family members were sleeping. He said the thieves might have entered by scaling the outer wall of the house. Head constable Avinash Rai said a case against unknown persons was registered and probe was on in the case.
In another case registered at the Koom Kalan police station, Harinder Singh, a resident of Katani Kalan, said on August 10, he along with his family had gone to Budhlada Mandi. When they reached their house on August 11 night, they found the locks of the house broke open. Thieves decamped with four gold rings, two gold lockets, three gold earrings, one LCD and Rs 5,000 cash. TNS
