Doraha Public, Garden Valley schools shine in basketball meet

A total of 20 teams from various schools participated in the Ludhiana Sahodhya Schools Complex (Khanna East) basketball tournament at Mount Litera Zee School.

In the U-14 (girls), eight teams participated, in which Doraha Public School won first position while Tagore International School, Sahnewal, and Kalgidhar Academy, Dugri, stood second and third, respectively.

In the U-14 (boys), a total of 11 schools participated. The first position was bagged by Garden Valley School, Macchiwara, followed by Doraha Public School and Tagore International School, Sahnewal. The host team, too, had participated and won a position but was not awarded any formal recognition as per rules of the competition.

Medals and certificates were awarded to students by the principal of the host school, Daljit Bhangu. She congratulated the winners on their brilliant performance and wished them good luck for future endeavours. She encouraged students to participate in extra-curricular activities for the overall development of their personality. —OC
