Ludhiana, May 24

Gone are the days when children used to visit their maternal or paternal grandparents during their summer break.

Nowadays, various schools organise summer camps and many experts offer innovative classes during the two-month summer break.

Yoga, meditation, sports, creative art, singing, dancing etc. are the most popular activities arranged by various schools and experts to attract school-going children.

The schools arrange for these summer camps, keeping in mind the age and classes of students.

Payal Mohindra, former news presenter and radio jockey, TV anchor, said this time she had come up with an innovative idea of read and write programme to build reading skills and enhance creative writing of students and an advance course to enhance communication skills of students.

The parents these days want their wards to indulge in fitness and creative art by joining various outdoor and indoor activities and not just become bookworms. They want their kids to have good exposure.

One of the concerned mothers Meenu Goel said her ward was in class X and the coming months would be too stressed and busy as far as study was concerned.

"I have made her proper diet plan and the second thing is the physical activity. I want her to be fit and healthy in the summer break so that she can focus well on studies in coming times," said the parent.
