LUDHIANA: Visually impaired persons from the state held a meeting at the netraheen ashram at Dashmesh Nagar under a banner of the National Federation for the Blind.

Visually impaired persons from the state held a meeting at the netraheen ashram at Dashmesh Nagar under a banner of the National Federation for the Blind. They are upset as there meetings with Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh have been postponed many times.

Gurpreet Singh Chahal from the federation said now when the CM arrives during the Independence Day event, they will carry out a march from the Dashmesh Nagar to Guru Nanak Stadium.

He said backlog of vacancies in government departments should be filled by giving jobs to visually impaired persons. They demanded that the appointment of teachers should be made against vacant positions at the blind school in Jamalpur.
