Inter-school cash prize c’ship from Sept 2

CHANDIGARH:The UT Sports Department will conduct inter-school cash prize championship for various disciplines from September 2-5.



Chandigarh, August 5 

The UT Sports Department will conduct inter-school cash prize championship for various disciplines from September 2-5. 

Archery competition will be held at the Lake Sports Complex, while athletics, gymnastics, volleyball and badminton championships will be conducted at the Sector 7 Sports Complex. 

Boxing, basketball, handball, kabaddi, kho-kho and tennis tournaments will be held at the Sector 42 Sports Complex, cricket matches will be held at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 32, while the Sector 34 Sports Complex will host the judo competition.  

Swimming meet will be organised at the Sector 23 all-weather pool, while table tennis matches will be held at the Sector 50 Sports Complex. Sector 56 Sports Complex will host taekwondo championship and Mani Majra Sports Complex will host the wrestling event.  

The top-three players in each event will be awarded with cash awards.

Players born on or after January 1, 2006 and studying in local schools will be eligible to participate in the competition. 

The interested athletes need to register for the competitions before 5 pm on August 20. — TNS
