Ludhiana, January 25
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Gurdev Singh will be awarded Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding Devotion to Duty at the Republic Day function to be organised at Guru Nanak Stadium on January 26.
The ACP is among 12 police personnel in the state to get the prestigious award.
The ACP has reportedly been chosen for the award as he took various initiatives for traffic management in the city and played an important role in curtailing road accidents. He is also preparing a report on the black spots in the city and how these can be converted into safe spots to prevent accidents.
Gurdev has been head of almost 30 police stations in Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Sangrur. He was promoted as ACP in 2016 and was posted at Adampur in Jalandhar Rural, from where he was shifted to Ludhiana traffic branch.
Gurdev said he had got almost 100 appreciation letters from the senior officers in his policing career. He also got two DGP’s commendation discs. “I will continue to serve the residents through various initiatives in traffic management,” he said.
