The city today recorded 80 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the tally to 16,671. Two more deaths were reported, taking the toll to 260.

An 87-year-old man from Sector 8, who was suffering from diabetes and hypertension, died at Ivy Hospital, Mohali. A 65-year-old man from Sector 40, a case of type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension, succumbed to the virus at the GMCH-32. A total of 119 patients recovered from the infectious disease in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries in the UT to 15,317.

96 test positive in Mohali, no fatality

Mohali: As many as 96 new cases of Covid and 116 recoveries were reported from the district on Sunday. Among the new cases, 76 were from Mohali (urban), 17 from Kharar, two from Kurali and one from Banur. The district Covid count has reached 14,396. As many as 12,885 patients have been cured of the disease. The active cases are 1,245. With no death on Sunday, the toll stands at 266. On Saturday, three deaths and 117 new cases were reported. TNS

75 fresh cases, no death in Panchkula

Panchkula: The district on Sunday reported 75 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the tally to 8,345. With no fresh deaths, the district toll stands at 121. While 7,715 patients have defeated the virus so far, 509 cases are still active. The district Covid recovery rate is 92.45 per cent. As many as 166 health workers, including Chief Medical Officer Dr Jasjeet Kaur, have tested positive for Covid so far. TNS
