Ludhiana, December 25
Fortythree fresh cases of Covid were reported in Ludhiana district on Thursday. The virus also claimed the life of a 39-year-old man from Mansoora village.
The Health Department confirmed 50 cases, including 43 from Ludhiana district and seven from other districts or states today. In Ludhiana, 24 patients with influenza-like illness visited the Flu corner, four patients came in contact with positive patients and nine visited OPDs. Besides, six persons, including two health care workers, e also tested positive for the virus.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Sharma said there were 429 active patients in the district at present. He said a patient lost his life today from Ludhiana district. Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives included 955 from Ludhiana and 440 from other districts.
He further said that till date, a total of 5,25,915 samples had been taken, out of which the reports of 5,23,642 samples had been received, of which 4,95,451 samples were found negative, while the reports of 2,273 samples were pending. He said now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana was 24,558, while 3,633 patients were related to other districts/states.
