Chandigarh, November 24

A total of 33 persons succumbed to Covid in the state in the last 24 hours. The toll now stood at 2,249. With 2,329 fresh cases, the Covid tally in the state went past 2.22 lakh on Tuesday.

Five deaths were reported from Faridabad, four from Hisar, three each from Gurugram and Rohtak, two each from Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Sirsa, Bhiwani, Jhajjar, Fatehabad and Charkhi Dadri and one each from Sonepat, Karnal, Jind and Nuh.

In all, 1,943 patients recovered on Tuesday, taking the tally of discharged cases to 1.99 lakh. The maximum fresh cases were reported from Gurugram (822), followed by Faridabad (557), Hisar (164), Rewari (117) and Rohtak (97).
