With 110 fresh COVID-19 cases surfacing in the district, Panchkula’s tally rose to 4,496 on Wednesday.

The death toll in the district mounted to 53 after two more people succumbed to the disease.

Besides, 207 people were recovered or discharged from hospitals.

A 60-year-old man from Pinjore and a 14-year-old girl from Indira Colony, who was suffering from TB, died due to coronavirus.

This is the second teenager to fall prey to the virus this month. Earlier on September 6, a 14-year-old boy from Kundi village had passed away from COVID-19.

The fresh cases include 14 from Marranwala, 13 from Pinjore, eight each from Raipur Rani, Sector 11 and Sector 20, seven from MDC Sector 5, six from Sector 4, five from Sector 21, four each from Sabilpur and Sector 12, three each from Sector 26, Sector 6 and Sector 7, two each from Barwala, Bhagwanpur, Sector 15, Sector 17, Sector 19 and Sector 28, one each from Abdullapur, Industrial Area, Madanpur, Kalka, Ramgarh, Sector 10, Sector 18, Sector 24, Sector 25, Sector 9, Sector 8 and Tibbi Majra.

Panchkula has so far conducted 55,793 Covid tests.
