Mohali, September 24
The district witnessed two Covid fatalities during the past 24 hours, taking the toll to 173. It also witnessed 169 fresh cases, taking the tally to 9,108, while 349 patients were cured today.
Civil Surgeon Dr Manjit Singh said two comorbid patients died due to the virus during the past 24 hours.
He said a 77-year-old man from Mohali, who was suffering from heart disease, and a 45-year-old woman from Mullanpur Garibdas, who was suffering from hypertension and was a diabetic, died at the PGI.
Of the 169 cases, 96 were from Mohali (urban), 27 from Kharar, six from Gharuan, 18 from Dhakoli, 16 from Dera Bassi, five from Lalru and one from Boothgarh. — TNS
