Two days after a news report was carried in Bathinda Tribune regarding the sale of illegal LPG gas cylinders in the city, the District Food and Supplies Controller ordered a crackdown on vendors selling these LPG gas cylinders illegally in various parts of the city and confiscated a total of 42 illegal cylinders. The raid was conducted by department officials
Raids were conducted at various locations, including shops near Multania Overbridge and near Hazi Ratan Chowk, among others areas.
Talking to Bathinda Tribune, the DFSC, Atinder Kaur, said: “I have instructed Assistant Food and Supply Officer (AFSOs) to conduct checking and find out if the illegal sale of LPG cylinders was on. Upon checking, they found and recovered 42 illegal LPG cylinders. We have seized these cylinders and asked the AFSOs to conduct checking on a routine basis to deter the ill-practice. — TNS
