Cricket League: Rohit stars in RR Super Kings XI’s win

Ludhiana, February 16

Rohit smashed 116 runs to enable RR Super Kings XI to record 51 runs against High Fly Kings XI in the third JITO Premier Cricket League that began at the Satish Chander Dhawan Government College ground here today.

As many as 16 teams are taking part in this league being organised by the JITO Youth Wing in which matches of 10 overs each side are played.

Batting first, RR Super Kings XI scored 193 runs after losing three wickets. The main scorer was Rohit who cracked a century (116), facing just 29 balls. His innings was laced with 12 sixes and five hits over the fence. Rahul contributed 64 runs off 18 balls.

For High Fly Kings XI, Avinash and Nitin claimed one wicket each after giving away 33 and 27 runs, respectively.

Chasing the target, High Fly Kings XI made 142 losing five wickets in which Arsh Jain scored 31 runs, Vaibhav chipped in with 20 runs while Rohit Kumar scored 33 runs.

For the winning side, Rohit and Nitin captured one wicket each to help their team wrap up the issue.

In the second match, Taplis Riders XI beat Team Duke by eight wickets. Team Duke scored 129 runs for the loss of four wickets and Taplis Riders XI made the required runs after losing only two wickets.

The third match was played between Vijay Vallabh Sweather XI and Glory Champions XI in which the former came out victorious by 46 runs. In reply to Vijay Vallabh Sweather XI made 148 runs and in reply, Glory Champions XI could make 102 runs.

In the fourth match, Red Hill Rippers XI defeated Bhomia Sun Risers XI by 26 runs. Chasing a target of 140 runs, set by Red Hill Rippers XI, Bhomia Sun Risers XI could muster 113 runs.

Rajeev Jain, Rakesh Jain, Tarun Jain and Munish Jain along with office-bearers of the organising committee and family members of the players were present at the opening function.
