15 members of Kapil Sangwan gang held in Najafgarh, 9 pistols seized

NEW DELHI:The Delhi Police crime branch have apprehended 15 members of Kapil Sangwan, alias Nandu, gang and seized nine automatic pistols with 65 rounds from them.

The Delhi Police crime branch have apprehended 15 members of Kapil Sangwan, alias Nandu, gang and seized nine automatic pistols with 65 rounds from them.

ASI Dinesh Kumar received information on Monday that shooters and accomplices of gangster Sangwan would assemble at Goyala Dairy in Najafgarh in the evening to celebrate the release of Sangwan on parole, said Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) AK Singla. 

  Two police teams were constituted, which were supervised by ACP Manoj Pant, he said. The teams surrounded and raided the premises at 11:40 pm and apprehended 15 persons with firearms, he said. ASI Jaiveer was injured on the left hand with a knife, he said. The hardcore criminals arrested were later identified as Vineet (28), Naveen (25), Vasudev (23), Sachin (22), Rahul (25), Abhishek (23), Surender Kumar (22), Chirag (22), Paramjeet (35), Pradeep Sehrawat (22), Vicky Dagar (26), Nishant Dagar (27), Rohit (23), Naveen (22) and Deepak (22), he said.

The antecedents of the arrested were being ascertained and 12 of them had criminal record while three were first-timers, he said. Further investigation, including details into source of firearms, was in progress, the ACP added.
