Two people, including a three-year-old child, sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out in a residential building in south Delhi’s Chirag Delhi area early Wednesday morning, officials said.
According to the Delhi Fire Service, a call regarding the fire was received at 5.45 am from Hanuman Road, Chirag Delhi.
Fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the spot.
The blaze was brought under control and a “stop message” was issued at 7.50 am, officials said.
According to the fire officer’s report, the fire broke out on the fourth floor of a building comprising a basement, four floors, and a partially constructed fifth floor.
Two people sustained minor burn injuries in the incident. Rakesh (55) suffered around 5 per cent burn injuries, while Kywansh (3) sustained burns to his hair.
The child was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for treatment.
