As many as three banks and six schools in the national capital received bomb-related threats on Monday, triggering extensive security checks and evacuations. However, nothing suspicious was found during checking and the threats were declared hoax, officials said.
Among the banks that received the threats were Axis Bank branch in Connaught Place, State Bank of India, AIIMS branch, and SBI branch in Shahdara, they said.
The six schools that received similar threat emails are Army Public School in Delhi Cantt, Salwan Public School, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Mira Public School in Janakpuri, Ramjas Public School and Ramjas School in Rajendra Nagar.
According to the Delhi Fire Service, calls regarding bomb threats started coming in around 8 am. After getting information, emergency teams reached the schools and conducted comprehensive searches of the premises. Students and staff were evacuated as a precautionary measure at some locations.
As nothing suspicious was found, the threats were later declared hoax, an official said.
