55-yr-old man shot dead over property dispute in Narela

A 55-year-old man was allegedly shot dead over a property-related dispute in North Delhi’s Narela area. Two suspects surrendered at the police station shortly after the incident, the police said on Saturday.

According to the police, the incident came to light on Saturday when Dinesh Kumar, a resident of Ghoga village, along with Bhoop Singh, also from the same village, reached the Narela police station and informed officials that Dinesh had shot a man, Dharampal, using his licensed revolver.

Following the disclosure, the police took the revolver into their possession and accompanied the accused to Ghoga village. They recovered the body of Dharampal from near a tube well near the residence of Dinesh. Blood was oozing from the victim’s neck and nose, indicating a fatal gunshot injury. The deceased was later identified by his son, Pradeep (35). A forensic science laboratory (FSL) team and the crime team were called to the spot to collect evidence.

Based on the statement of the victim’s son, a case under Sections 103 (1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 27 of the Arms Act has been registered at the Narela police station.

In his complaint, Pradeep alleged that the murder was committed over a dispute related to commission in a property sale transaction. The two accused had been arrested and further investigation was on, the police said.
