Addressing the media, ABVP national general secretary Virendra Singh Solanki said the organisation remained committed to building a “positive student movement” rooted in education, culture and national interest.
The student organisation reported its highest ever annual membership, with more than 76 lakh students joining this year, a record expansion that the ABVP leadership described as reflective of increasing youth engagement in national issues.
The resolutions passed during the convention focused on national education reforms, environmental responsibility, national security concerns related to Bangladeshi infiltration, and countering divisive tendencies within society.
Among the major programmes planned are a national hostel survey, the ‘Screen Time to Green Time’ campaign and year-long commemorations of historical milestones, including the 500th birth anniversary of Maha Rani Abbakka, the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, 50 years of the Emergency and 150 years of Vande Mataram. Cultural events, intellectual debates and outreach drives will take place across college campuses nationwide.
The following resolutions were formally adopted: A unified structure for all educational institutions with adequate funding, addressing Bangladeshi infiltration as a national security concern, public participation in preventing human induced natural disasters, organising society to counter divisive forces.
Solanki said, "The 71st national conference has strengthened the ABVP's resolve to work towards student welfare and national interest. The organisation will work tirelessly to implement its resolutions and initiatives."
ABVP Delhi state secretary Sarthak Sharma said, "The national conference has given a clear direction to the ABVP's efforts towards student welfare and national interest. The hostel survey and 'Screen Time to Green Time' campaign will be crucial in identifying students' needs and promoting a healthy and aware student life."
