Additional SHO held taking bribe

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Faridabad arrested an additional SHO of the Chhayasa police station in Faridabad while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000. He was accepting the bribe from a complainant to quash a road accident case.

According to the ACB, Sanjay, a resident of Chanyasa village, was involved in a road accident which took place on February 13. A young man named Rohit and his maternal uncle, who were riding a motorcycle were injured after their bike was hit by an Eeco van, driven by Sanjay. An FIR was registered against Eeco van driver at the Chanyasa police station.

Both parties in this case were from the same village, so they had reached a settlement. Both parties informed additional SHO Pradeep about this, who was investigating the case. After this additional SHO Pradeep demanded Rs 40,000 from Sanjay’s cousin in exchange for dropping the case based on a compromise. Sanjay filed a complaint with the ACB.
