Dr B R Ambedkar University Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic, research and infrastructural collaboration between the two institutions, marking a significant step towards interdisciplinary cooperation in higher education.
The agreement aims to promote academic excellence and research initiatives while ensuring mutual growth of schools, departments and programmes through joint academic and research activities. The collaboration will focus on joint research ventures in areas such as education, social sciences, humanities, management and vocational studies, along with initiatives under PMMMNTTC.
As part of the MoU, both institutions will undertake collaborative research projects and joint supervision of PhD programmes to advance knowledge creation. The partnership will also include joint national conferences, workshops and seminars to promote faculty interaction and academic exchange, alongside cultural and sports exchange programmes aimed at enriching student life and encouraging holistic development.
The agreement also provides for revision of curricular programmes to align them with industry requirements, with the objective of making graduates more job-ready and innovative. Digital learning initiatives will be strengthened through joint workshops on MOOCs and ICT. The universities will share academic resources, including mutual access to library holdings and laboratory facilities.
The MoU further includes provisions for joint outreach, extension and capacity-building programmes, as well as consultancy projects aimed at addressing societal and industry needs. The collaboration underscores Ambedkar University Delhi’s commitment to quality education and research while positioning both institutions as contributors to interdisciplinary innovation in the national capital.
