Atishi row: Delhi Assembly Secretariat directs Punjab Police to submit FSL report, FIR copy 

This came a day after the Punjab Police submitted its reply stating that the forensic report had concluded that the word “Guru” was not uttered by Atishi in the audio extracted from the examined video

The Delhi Assembly on Friday directed the Punjab Police to submit a copy of the Forensic Science Laboratory report and FIR in the matter related to the alleged doctored video of Leader of Opposition Atishi and the subsequent FIR registered in Jalandhar.

The Director General of Police, Punjab, has been directed to submit a copy of complaint and enclosures based on which the FIR was registered, a copy of FIR, report of the Social Media Expert, Technical Cell, Punjab Police, and the Forensic Science Laboratory report.

This came a day after the Punjab Police submitted its reply on the issue before the Assembly.

“Your reply, along with the comments of the Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, enclosed therewith, has been placed before the Speaker for further directions,” read a letter from the Assembly Secretariat. 

However, it is observed that the additional information, documents sought have not been provided, it added.

“delhiAccordingly, 1 am directed to request you to provide the following on or before the 28th January,” the letter further read.

The Punjab Police in its reply had mentioned that the forensic report concluded that the word “Guru” was not uttered by Atishi in the audio extracted from the examined video.

The reply clarified that the edited clips were created and circulated outside the Delhi Assembly and were not authorised by the House, thereby excluding the application of legislative privilege.
