New Delhi, February 24

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri accused the Arvind Kejriwal-led government for its handling of the Delhi budget and purported neglect of issues of public interest. Sachdeva alleged that Kejriwal was manipulating the Assembly to shield his administration’s corruption and incompetence.

“Kejriwal has deliberately suppressed the budget approved by President Droupadi Murmu on February 19, with malicious intent,” Sachdeva asserted.

He further accused Kejriwal of resorting to baseless statements and seeking refuge in the Assembly to deflect attention from his failings and evade investigation by enforcement agencies.

Bidhuri also condemned Kejriwal’s conduct in the Assembly. “Kejriwal uses the Assembly as a platform to hurl abuses at the Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi, the Central Government, and BJP leaders,” Bidhuri said. He said this behaviour was a cover-up for Kejriwal’s alleged corruption.

The opposition leaders also raised concerns about the misallocation of resources. They said crucial public issues were being side-lined during Assembly sessions.

“Millions are spent during these sessions, yet if the core issues concerning the public are overlooked, there can be no meaningful solutions,” Bidhuri added.

The opposition leaders urged the Lieutenant-Governor to take decisive action in these matters. “Since Kejriwal flouts rules and runs the Assembly with impunity, we call upon the L-G to dismiss his government,” Bidhuri said.
