New Delhi, October 27

Continuing with its tough anti-terror stance, the government today declared 18 more Pakistan-based individuals as designated terrorists under the UAPA for their involvement in acts of terrorism on Indian soil.

Prominent among them are Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Sallahudin, Indian Mujahideen (IM) founders Bhatkal brothers and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s close aide Chhota Shakeel. The number of such proscribed persons has now reached 31.

The hijackers of an Indian Airlines plane in 1999, Abdul Rauf Asghar, Ibrahim Athar and Yusuf Azhar, have also been named in the list, a senior MHA official said. — TNS
