Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said her government had worked for 27 years to safeguard Delhi’s interests and emphasised that governance is a tool for service. She said the previous government often announced schemes without clarity on ground-level implementation.

Referring to welfare initiatives, she noted that benefits under the Ladli Scheme had not reached 1.75 lakh girls. The present government identified beneficiaries and transferred Rs 90 crore via DBT to 30,000 girls, with another Rs 100 crore to be transferred to 40,000 more girls. The Ladli Scheme has now been replaced with the Lakhpati Beti Yojana, under which each girl will receive Rs 1.25 lakh to support her education.

Detailing infrastructure projects, the Chief Minister said development works worth Rs 260 crore are underway in Shakur Basti, Rs 100 crore in Tri Nagar, Rs 160 crore in Model Town, Rs 120 crore in Adarsh Nagar, and several crores in Shalimar Bagh Assembly. Additionally, Rs 750 crore has been approved for road construction in the industrial area of Wazirpur Assembly, and Rs. 5,000 crore road construction from Inderlok Metro Station to UER-2 has commenced.

On welfare announcements, she said Rs 122 crore would be transferred through the DBT to provide free LPG cylinders to 17.5 lakh families during Holi, and Pink Cards would be issued to women enabling free bus travel.

Addressing civic issues, she said, “In Delhi, electricity meters had been banned for 1.5 lakh properties sealed by the MCD; today, meters have been installed and power supply has been restored to all these properties.” She added that a sewer master plan will soon be presented.

Launching an attack on former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Gupta said, “Those shouting in defence, like Arvind Kejriwal, should understand that the pot of deceit will not be put on the stove again in Delhi. He is guilty in the eyes of Delhi’s people and will never be forgiven.”
