The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC), under the leadership of DPCC president Sheila Dikshit, held a demonstration in all 70 Assembly constituencies today to protest against the acute power and water shortage.

Dikshit participated in the demonstration at Ratiya Marg, in the Sangam Vihar Assembly constituency.

The DPCC president said people were fed up with frequent power cuts and acute water shortage in the peak summer days but the AAP government had failed to address the problem.

The elderly, poor, women and children are the worst affected. In the absence of adequate supply, it is becoming difficult for the residents to go about their daily chores. Many said the AAP government had not made any contingency plans to meet power and water emergencies.

Dikshit said a DPCC delegation had met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently and brought to his notice the severe power and water shortage in the Capital. But despite that, the government had not woken up from its slumber to solve the problem.

She said the protests in all 70 Assembly constituencies were to highlight the problems being faced by the people and to awaken the sleeping AAP government.
