A joint team of the Gurgaon Police and CM Flying Squad raided an illegal liquor and hookah party being held at Chhabra Farm near Baliawas village on Faridabad road. The police seized a large quantity of foreign liquor and hookah and arrested the party’s organiser. A case has been registered at the DLF Phase 1 police station.
According to the CM flying squad, they received information that a man named Lokesh was operating a hookah bar and liquor parties on a commercial scale at Chhabra Farm in Baliyawas without any permission. After this a raiding party of CM flying and local police was formed who raided the farm last night.
A senior police officer said during the raid, around 35 people were consuming alcohol and smoking hookahs amidst loud music. Upon investigation, it was found that the operator did not have a valid license or permit to serve alcohol or operate a hookah bar. The police recovered five large hookahs and six different flavors from the spot.
During the search, the police also found a large quantity of expensive and foreign-brand liquor. These include 19 filled and six empty bottles.
The police arrested the party organiser identified as Lokesh, a resident of Punjabi Bagh, Delhi. According to the police, the accused violated the Excise Act by illegally serving alcohol to patrons and the COTPA Act 2003 by operating a hookah bar. An FIR was registered at the DLF Phase 1 police station and a probe is underway.
