Daily new cases remained above 18,000 for the third day and active cases rose for the 12th straight day with 24-hour recoveries falling short of 24-hour new infections.
Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and TN reported a surge in daily cases, accounting for 86.25 per cent of all new cases in 24 hours. In all, 18,599 new cases were registered on the last day. Till Monday, 2,26,85,598 vaccine doses were administered. — TNS
