During the IPL 2025 season in April, the Crime Branch arrested six people for operating a similar setup out of Paharganj. The group was found taking bets on the IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans on April 6.

The police had recovered a laptop, a tablet and five mobile phones used for placing bets, along with 10 personal phones and notebooks used to record entries. The police said the syndicate was operating in offline mode, taking bets over phone calls and updating rates in real time during matches. The operation relied on the Betting Assistant app, i-book software and handwritten ledgers to manage betting data.
