Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva has criticised the Delhi government’s policies, decrying “forced” toll taxes, “inflated” electricity rates and property tax notices.

Speaking at a rally in Sector 3, Bawana, Sachdeva rallied support against what he termed the exploitation of businessmen and entrepreneurs by the Kejriwal government.

Criticises toll tax

  • Talking about a toll booth in the area, he asserted that the Delhi Government imposed toll tax on entry into the industrial zone, impacting both businessmen and their customers.
  • Sachdeva further criticised the government and said it had failed to develop infrastructure and provide facilities to businessmen. The Delhi BJP president questioned the decision imposing toll taxes without “adequate facilities” such as parking lots.

Accusing the Delhi Government of viewing businessmen as sources of revenue, he said, “The Kejriwal government has made businessmen a means of income and plunder.”

He compared the electricity rates of Delhi and neighbouring states, pointing out that Haryana provides industrial electricity at a significantly lower rate compared to Delhi’s Rs 18.50 per unit.

Talking about a toll booth in the area, he asserted that the Delhi government imposes toll tax on entry into the industrial zone, directly impacting both businessmen and their customers.

Sachdeva further criticised the government and said it has failed to develop infrastructure and provide facilities to businessmen. The Delhi BJP president questioned the decision imposing toll taxes without “adequate facilities” such as parking lots.

He underscored the need for equitable treatment for entrepreneurs. He said, “If businessmen are paying taxes, they should also get all the facilities.”

Sachdeva warned the Delhi government of protests against its policies. The BJP leader urged Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to recognise the impact of his decisions on the business community.
