Delhi leaders offer prayers on Hanuman Janmotsav

Political leaders across the Capital participated in religious ceremonies on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav on Thursday, offering prayers and extending greetings while underlining the values of service, unity and social harmony.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the 108-ft Shri Sankat Mochan Dham Temple in Karol Bagh, where she joined devotees in reciting the Hanuman Chalisa and offered prayers for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Delhi.

Addressing devotees, she described Lord Hanuman as a symbol of “service, dedication, courage and unwavering commitment,” adding that such occasions help foster positive energy, unity and spiritual awarenes in society.

Social Welfare Minister Ravindra Indraj Singh attended several religious and cultural programmes across his Bawana constituency, including Shahbad Daulatpur, Auchandi, Qutubgarh and Krishna Vihar. Participating in havans, bhajan sandhyas and Sundarkand recitals, he said Lord Hanuman’s life reflects the values of “selfless service, firm faith and commitment to public welfare,” urging people to imbibe these ideals in daily life.

In Shahbad Daulatpur, the minister offered prayers and sought blessings, while in other areas he interacted with devotees and took part in distribution of prasad. He also extended greetings to residents, stating that such events strengthen social cohesion and collective responsibility.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva also visited several temples across the city, including the historic Hanuman temple in Chandni Chowk and another in Connaught Place. He prayed for the well-being of citizens and expressed hope for stability amid global uncertainties.
