Delhi Police arrest kingpin of organised crime syndicate under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act
The arrest is being seen as a major blow to criminal activities in Narela and surrounding areas
In a stringent action against organised crime in Delhi’s Outer North district, the police arrested gangster Mukesh, alias Punit, under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
The arrest is being seen as a major blow to criminal activities in Narela and surrounding areas, where the gang had allegedly spread fear for years.
According to Delhi Police, the operation was carried out on the basis of specific intelligence inputs and strong evidence.
Mukesh was arrested following a well-planned operation after legal scrutiny was completed.
An FIR under relevant sections of the MCOCA had already been registered against him at Narela police station.
Mukesh alias Punit, aged 34, allegedly entered the world of crime in 2012 and, within a few years, emerged as a feared figure in the region.
Police records show that he was involved in more than 25 criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, robbery, extortion, illegal possession of weapons, kidnapping, and criminal conspiracy.
Apart from Delhi, several serious cases have also been registered against him in Haryana.
Investigations have revealed that Mukesh was the kingpin of an organised crime syndicate.
Several criminals, including Pradeep alias Guri, Vikas alias Vicky, Vinod alias Sonu and Pardeep alias Anil, were actively working within his network. Police sources have also stated that Mukesh had close links with the notorious Gogi gang, which further strengthened his criminal influence.
The gang is alleged to have been involved in extortion, illegal recoveries, armed crimes, and gang-related violence. Following Mukesh’s arrest, the police have intensified raids to trace and apprehend other members of the gang and to dismantle the entire criminal network.
