In a bid to strengthen public safety and visible policing, the South-East district on Friday launched Tejas Patrol, a powerful new dynamic initiative aimed at enhancing deterrence, responsiveness and citizen confidence to make neighbourhoods safer, streets more secure and policing more responsive to citizens’ needs.

The vehicle was flagged off by Special Commissioner of Police (Law & Order Zone II), Madhup Tewari, along with SK Jain, Joint CP (Southern Range) Dr Hemant Tiwari, DCP, (South East) Aishwarya Sharma, Ishan Bhardwaj Addl DCP and other officers of the district.

Tewari stated, “Effective policing demands presence, preparedness and precision. Tejas strengthens all three. By integrating technology with field operations, we are ensuring that every patrol is purposeful and every deployment accountable. This is policing with clarity, confidence and measurable impact.”

The operational planning and seamless on-ground execution of Tejas Patrol, including its technology integration and monitoring framework, was meticulously conceptualised and implemented by Harnit Singh Sudan, IPS (Probationer).

Tejas Patrol vehicles are now deployed in a carefully planned manner—four-wheelers act as mobile command units, while agile two-wheelers ensure swift movement through narrow lanes and congested areas.

Each vehicle is equipped with a standardised operational readiness kit, ensuring first-responder effectiveness to respond effectively to emergencies and rapid scene stabilisation. The focus is not only on reaction and prevention but also visible presence to deter crime before it occurs.

The initiative also replaces manual paperwork with secure digital reporting. This allows faster documentation, and better record-keeping, leading to more efficient follow-up action.
