Delhi Police transfers 70 officers

Ahead of the Holi festival, the Union government on Monday ordered a major reshuffle in the Delhi Police, transferring and posting 70 officers — 50 IPS and 20 DANIPS—across senior ranks with immediate effect, according to an official order.

At the apex level, 1994-batch IPS officer Anand Mohan has been appointed Director General (Prisons), replacing Special Commissioner of Police Devesh Shrivastava, who had been holding additional charge.

Senior IPS officer Virender Singh (1991 batch) has been posted as Director General, Home Guards, while 1997-batch officer Surender Singh has been appointed Director General, Civil Defence.

Surendra Singh Yadav has been posted as DG, Civil Defence. Sanjay Kumar Jain has been named Officer on Special Duty to the Commissioner of Police and given additional charge as Joint Commissioner of Police (Technology and Police Infrastructure). Joint CP (Traffic) Kime Kamjing has been shifted to Joint CP (Armed Police).

Dheeraj Kumar has moved from Joint CP (Armed Police) to Joint CP (Crime), where he will head the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF). Ajit Kumar Singla has been appointed Joint CP (Eastern Range), while Sanjay Kumar Tyagi takes over as Joint CP (Traffic). Vijay Kumar, previously OSD to the Commissioner of Police, has been posted as Joint CP (Southern Range).

At the Additional Commissioner level, Monika Bhardwaj has been transferred from Traffic to Additional CP (Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations), while Vijyanta Arya has been posted as Additional CP (Traffic). Satya Vir Katara has been assigned Additional CP (Recruitment), Nidhin Valsan has taken charge as Additional CP (Technology and Police Infrastructure), and Abhishek Dhania has been posted as Additional CP (Crime–ANTF).

Several district-level changes have also been effected. Sachin Sharma moves from DCP (Outer) to DCP (New Delhi). Shashank Jaiswal, previously DCP (Traffic), has been posted as DCP (Rohini). Rajiv Kumar has been appointed DCP (East), Kushal Pal Singh as DCP (Dwarka), Rajendra Prasad Meena as DCP (Shahdara), and Akanksha Yadav as DCP (North-West). Vikram Singh takes over as DCP (Outer), Anant Mittal as DCP (South), and Rohit Rajbir Singh as DCP (Central).

Specialised units have also seen changes. Ankit Chauhan, DCP (South), has been posted to the Special Branch, while Ankit Singh, DCP (Dwarka), moves to Vigilance. Ravi Kumar Singh has been appointed Additional Commissioner of Police, Economic Offences Wing.

Shobhit D. Saxena has been posted as DCP (Traffic), and Bharat Reddy Bommarreddy has taken charge as DCP (Railways), with additional responsibility as DCP (Metro).
