The temperature fell from 8.3 degrees Celsius a day earlier and was 4.6 degrees below the season’s average.

Weather experts attributed the sharp dip in temperature to calm winds and clear skies, which allowed heat to escape the city at night.

Mahesh Palawat, Vice-President of Meteorology & Climate Change, said the temperature would slightly increase over the next two or three days as two western disturbances approach. He warned that a fresh dip is likely by mid-December, signaling the onset of an even colder phase for the Capital.
