Thought-provoking Opinions, Expert Analysis, In-depth Insights and other Member Only BenefitsThe launch of the much-anticipated new logo of the Delhi Government, that was supposed to be organised on Saturday, has been postponed, officials concerned said.
The emblem and tagline were set to be unveiled during the Delhi Foundation Day celebrations, but was postponed due to the unavailability of some Cabinet Ministers, they added.
“The logo will be launched after these ministers return to Delhi,” an official said.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had earlier announced that the logo would serve as a distinct emblem of the national capital, symbolising its culture, identity, and development.
The Chief Minister noted that, unlike most Indian states, Delhi did not have an official logo.
She said her government took up the initiative soon after assuming office. A logo design competition was launched on the mygov.in portal, attracting more than 1,800 entries from across the country.
A special expert committee, chaired by the Secretary of the General Administration Department, was tasked with reviewing and shortlisting the designs.
