The political affairs committee (PAC) of the Aam Aadami Party (AAP) has appointed Durgesh Pathak as the in-charge of party affairs for Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Pathak would replace Pankaj Gupta who in turn has been given the charge of Chandni Chowk parliamentary constituency ahead of next general elections.
Also the in-charge of party affairs in Jammu and Kashmir, Pathak was removed along with Sanjay Singh from Punjab unit’s charge after allegations of corruption surfaced in 2016.
They were accused of taking money to distribute tickets for Punjab Assembly elections following which the party removed them after its below expectation performance.
One of the founding members of the party, Pathak is a member of the PAC and also heads the national organisation building team of the party.
The AAP also considers Pathak to be instrumental in the landslide victory of the party in Delhi Assembly elections in 2015.
