Former president of Delhi BJP unit Mange Ram Garg passed away at the age of 81 on Sunday. He breathed his last at Balaji Action Hospital, North Delhi. The President, Prime Minister (PM) and other senior leaders of the BJP paid their condolences to Garg’s family.
PM Narendra Modi condoled Garg’s death and tweeted, “Shri Mange Ram Garg Ji had a deep connect with Delhi and that was seen in the manner in which he selflessly served the people of the city. He played a pivotal role in strengthening BJP in Delhi. His demise is saddening. My thoughts are with his family and supporters. Om Shanti (sic).”
Garg was elected to the Delhi assembly in 2003 from Wazirpur constituency. He was not keeping well from sometime and was undergoing treatment. His family members said he had pledged his organs to the Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti for which his body would be taken to a hospital at 1 pm.
CM Arvind Kejriwal too condoled the demise of former BJP chief. “I am saddened to hear the demise of former chief of Delhi unit of the BJP. May his soul rest in peace and may God give his family the courage and strength to bear the loss,” Kejriwal tweeted.
Delhi BJP Manoj Tiwari said, “Mange Ram ji played a pivotal role in strengthening the organisation in the Capital. The people of Delhi will remember his selfless service to society.”
