The year 2025 proved to be a landmark year for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), marked by rapid infrastructure expansion, technological innovation and global recognition, further strengthening its position as India’s most advanced urban transport system.
The year began with a major boost to Phase-IV expansion, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the 26.5-km Rithala–Narela–Nathupur corridor in January. DMRC also commenced passenger services on the Janakpuri West–Krishna Park Extension, taking the Metro network to 394.448 km across 289 stations. Several engineering milestones followed, including the construction of the network’s highest and deepest tunnels on the Magenta and Golden Lines, setting new benchmarks in urban tunnelling.
Throughout 2025, DMRC strengthened its commitment to digital transformation and passenger convenience. It launched integrated ticketing through the ‘DMRC Sarthi’ app, enabled UPI-based payments via BHIM, and partnered with ONDC to provide seamless first and last-mile connectivity. Sustainability remained a key focus, with DMRC advancing renewable energy adoption, signing major MoUs for green power procurement, and earning national recognition for energy efficiency.
