FICCI-CASCADE (Committee Against Smuggling and Counterfeiting Destroying the Economy) organised the third edition of its Annual Auto Rally on Saturday to raise awareness about the economic and national security threats posed by smuggled and counterfeit goods.

The rally was flagged off by MP Manoj Tiwari, who urged citizens to act as responsible consumers and reject illegal products that drain government revenue and strengthen criminal networks.

Calling smuggling a “silent threat” that fuels organised crime and terrorism, Tiwari appealed to people to consciously choose tax-paid, bill-certified goods. He described refusing smuggled goods as “a powerful act of patriotism” essential for a safer and stronger India.

FICCI-CASCADE Chairman Anil Rajput said illicit trade undermines national development by causing massive tax losses and exposing consumers to unsafe products. He called for stronger enforcement and increased public awareness to curb the menace.

Over 300 auto-rickshaws participated in the rally, carrying anti-smuggling messages across central Delhi, including Connaught Place and Barakhamba Road.
