New Delhi, March 24
A fire broke out on the ground floor of the AIIMS Trauma Centre here today near one of the operation theaters, the Delhi Fire Service said.
A call was received at 6.13 pm about the incident, following which 24 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, Chief Fire Officer Atul Garg said.
The fire broke out on the ground floor of the AIIMS Trauma Centre, he said.
No injuries or casualties was reported, he said.
According to sources in the hospital, patients had to be shifted to another ward and others were evacuated as the smoke engulfed the ground floor of the building.
The electricity supply has been stopped in the building. Short circuit is suspected to be the reason behind the incident, he said.
The source said there was also a leakage in the oxygen supply pipe behind the manifold due to which the oxygen supply to the building was stopped for sometime, which was later repaired and restored. — TNS
