Five injured in LPG cylinder explosion in North Delhi
Blast occurs in residential building in Swaroop Nagar, Outer North Delhi
At least five people, including a woman and two children, were injured following an LPG cylinder explosion inside a room on the third floor of a residential building in Swaroop Nagar, Outer North Delhi, officials said on Tuesday.
According to the police, the blast at House No. 134, F-Block, Gali No. 4, Swaroop Nagar, was reported to the Swaroop Nagar police station.
The incident took place in a room on the third floor of the building, which covers an area of approximately 25 square yards.
A police team quickly arrived at the scene and discovered that a small LPG cylinder had exploded inside a room occupied by a tenant family of four. As a result of the blast, five people on the third floor sustained injuries. In addition, two women living on the second floor were also injured due to the explosion's impact.
All the injured were taken to Burari Hospital for medical treatment. Police officials confirmed the fire caused by the blast was brought under control and extinguished.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation, with authorities working to determine the exact circumstances. Police officials have stated that appropriate legal action would be taken once the inquiry is complete.
