South-East district police have apprehended four persons, including two juveniles, in connection with a stabbing in Badarpur that left one man dead and another injured, officials said on Saturday.
The incident occurred around 10 pm on February 5 near a public toilet and Ayurveda Hospital in Gautampuri, Badarpur, after a PCR call alerted police to a violent altercation. Preliminary investigation revealed that the clash began over a minor issue, the breaking of the side mirror of a Santro car, but escalated due to previous enmity between the two groups, the police said.
The victims were identified as Arun (25), a garment vendor, and Shivam (25), a housekeeping staff member at AIIMS. Both were taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre with multiple stab wounds. Arun succumbed to a wound in the gluteal region, while Shivam sustained a stab injury in the epigastric region. Doctors said Shivam was stable and recovering. Multiple police teams conducted raids and detained four accused: H (a juvenile in conflict with law), Amar (25), N (another juvenile), and Vicky (31), all residents of Gautampuri. Amar works as a marble polisher, while Vicky is a driver; the juveniles are school dropouts and unemployed.
The police recovered the weapon and blood-stained clothes from the accused. A case has been registered under Sections 103 (1), 109, and 3 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
