The Delhi Government on Friday said the supply of LPG, petrol, diesel and PNG remains normal across the national capital, urging residents not to indulge in panic buying or hoarding.

In a statement, the Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said, “The supply of all major fuels, including LPG, petrol, diesel and PNG, remains normal and uninterrupted across the National Capital Territory of Delhi.”

The government also asked citizens to ignore rumours circulating on social media about any disruption in supply.

The department cautioned that hoarding or black marketing of fuel is illegal and warned that strict action would be taken against violators.

Indraprastha Gas Limited has confirmed that domestic PNG supply in the city remains stable. It also informed the government that natural gas allocation continues to prioritise domestic households and the CNG transport sector.

Oil marketing companies have also assured the authorities that adequate stock of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders is available in Delhi and nearby supply depots, and fuel distribution supply chain remains fully operational.

To ensure equitable distribution and smooth supply management, the minimum interval between two LPG refill bookings has been revised to 25 days. However, LPG consumers are still receiving cylinder deliveries within an average period of three days from the date of booking.

The government has encouraged consumers to use digital booking facilities provided by oil marketing companies instead of visiting gas agency offices. LPG refills can be booked through official web portals, SMS, IVRS, missed call services and WhatsApp platforms.

Officials are also conducting enforcement drives to prevent hoarding or other malpractices.

Reiterating its appeal, the government said, “There is no cause for concern or panic buying, and urges residents to rely only on official sources of information.”
