Delhi Govt notifies jurisdictions of 16 Metro police stations

The Delhi Government on Thursday notified the jurisdiction of all 16 Metro police stations of the national capital. The newly opened Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 will be included in the jurisdiction of the IGI Airport Metro police station.

The IGI Airport Metro police station will also cover areas around Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, Aero City Mahipalpur, IGI Airport and Metro stations in Dwarka, including Sector 8 to 14 and 21, Delhi Cantt, Naraina Vihar, Mayapuri and the new Yashobhoomi.

The notification lists 16 Metro police stations — Raja Garden, Yamuna Depot, Ghitorni, Kashmere Gate, Rithala, Okhla Vihar, Shastri Park, Nangloi, Nehru Place, INA, Janakpuri, Supreme Court, Rajiv Chowk,

Azadpur and Netaji Subhash Place.

The Raja Garden Metro police station will have jurisdiction over Ramakrishna Ashram, Jhandwwala, Karol Bagh,

Rajendra Place, Patel Nagar, Shadipur, Kirti Nagar, Moti Nagar, Ramesh Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Tagore Garden, Subhash Nagar, Sat Guru Ram Singh Marg and ESI Hospital.

The Yamuna Depot Metro police station will cover Yamuna Bank, Laxmi Nagar, Preet and Lasmi Vihar, Karkardooma, Anand Vihar ISBT, Akshardham, Mayur Vihar, New Ashok Vihar, among others.

The Supreme Court Metro police station will handle cases related to Central Delhi areas, including Barakhamba Road, Mandi House, Supreme Court, Indraprastha, Janpath, ITO, Delhi Gate, Jama Masjid and Lal Qila.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena issued the orders in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 10 of the Delhi Police Act, 1978, read with relevant clauses of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Samhita, 2023, and the Ministry of Home Affairs notifications.
