As per a notification dated December 29, the building premises in Pocket-II, DDU Marg, was inspected by the Fire Department. Several shortcomings were reported during the inspection.
“The manually operated electronic fire alarm (MOEFA) system was provided but found to be non-functional. Exit, lift and floor signages were found missing at several locations. Though pressurisation systems were installed in staircases, lift shafts and lift lobbies, these were also found to be non-functional. Vertical and horizontal openings were found unsealed at certain locations, and the smoke management system, though provided, was not operational. Additionally, self-closing devices on fire check doors were found removed at some places,” the order mentioned.
Further, fifth and sixth floors could not be inspected as both floors were found locked. In view of the above deficiencies, the application for renewal of the fire safety certificate cannot be considered at this stage and is hereby rejected, the notification read.
