Gurugram university hosts global summit on AI & law

A two-day International Conference on the Convergence of Artificial Intelligence and Law, organised at Gurugram University, concluded successfully on Saturday. Scholars, experts, researchers and students from across the country and abroad actively participated in the conference.

The chief guest of the valedictory ceremony was Raj Nehru, OSD to the Chief Minister of Haryana.

Vageshwari Deswal from the Faculty of Law, Delhi University, also shared her thoughts as a special invitee. During the conference, in-depth discussions were held on various dimensions of Artificial Intelligence and Law. Experts emphasised the need to maintain transparency, accountability and effectiveness in the justice system amid the growing influence of AI.

A total of 192 students and researchers presented their research papers in this two-day conference, highlighting important aspects related to contemporary legal challenges and the use of AI. Participants were honoured with certificates of appreciation, while the winner of the Best Research Paper was specially felicitated.

Raj Nehru, OSD to the Chief Minister of Haryana, said that in a country like India, where the power of youth is the greatest strength, research in the fields of AI and law can propel the nation towards global leadership.

In his address, Vice-Chancellor Sanjay Kaushik said that in today’s time, Artificial Intelligence is no longer just a subject of technology; rather, it is influencing every sphere of society, including the justice system.
